A Cabbage Patch Kids Birthday, Tea Party and Easter!

February 12th, 2011
The Cabbage Patch Kids are lovable stuffed dolls that kids can 'adopt' and bring home. It is a great idea started in the 80s that really took off, then died down a bit during the 90s and is slowly gaining fans again as a classic toy. As a result parents who grew up with the Cabbage Patch Kids are raising kids of their own that love and appreciate their favorite dolls. You can help to encourage that love of the Cabbage Patch Dolls by throwing your kids their very own Cabbage Patch themed party. This party works well for a birthday, a fun tea party and even for a special Easter celebration. Imagine throwing an Easter themed party. You can hide the dolls in specially wrapped Easter baskets and have the kids go hunting for them in the morning. They'll be so pleased and surprised by their finds. You'll just have .. more»

How the Tea Party Began – 1 – Its Roots

December 20th, 2010
From where had the Tea Party come from? What are its roots? What is its heartbeat? Knowing where to begin this subject is difficult because of the many elements which fuel the movement and because the fabric of the Tea Party is woven with many layers. Knowing what single event began the Tea Party might not be so difficult, however, although the reader might at first be startled. That decision came five months before President Kennedy's assassination, both events sending massive shock waves across America. So, let me introduce to you Joe Citizen who, along with most Americans, most of the news media of the time, and most of the public institutions, railed against the Supreme Court's decision. Joe was faced .. more»

Children’s Tea Sets – The Delights of the Endless Sugar Dish

November 27th, 2010
This morning I heard my daughter playing in her room and I crept quietly up the hall to listen and watch. Today was obviously Tea Party Day in Sophie's room and all her dolls and bears were sitting obediently around in a circle patiently waiting for their tea cups to be filled and their pretend cake to be served on imaginary plates. It was a picture. And all the while Sophie kept up a chatter that (it took me a moment or two to recognize) included the voices of each of her toy friends. I was enthralled. I held my breath and stayed as still as I could so as not to break the spell.I'm sure every parent of a four year old girl has had a moment like this - aren't they magic? But as I thought about it afterwards, I wondered where all that tea-party make-believe came from. .. more»

Hosting a Tea Party

October 2nd, 2010
Hosting a Tea Party is not going to do the trick for all businesses, but for those that attract a great number of women, this is a terrific plan. The idea is to get to know some of your customers on a more personal level. Not all businesses today can even attempt to learn the names of all their customers, but you ask any customer who comes in our door if they like to be greeted by name and they'll say, "That's why I come to your store."Those words are music to a shopkeeper's ear. We want customers to come to our store, and if they feel welcome and that our store is friendly, then that is all the more reason for us to continue working hard to perpetuate that feeling. To us, at our gift shop, there is nothing more welcoming than having a tea party. It gives the chance .. more»
